1930s HAWTHORNE MENS PREWAR RAT ROD CRUISER BIKE SCHWINN VINTAGE TANK MOTORBIKE Click Photos to Enlarge Description Here is an original 1930s? VINTAGE (The serial number is 74 EH and is stamped on the bottom of the cranks housing. Seems really low? See pic) men’s Hawthorne balloon tire beach cruiser bicycle with 26″ wheels. (could be postwar? See pics and be your own expert) A very unique bike and you do not see these often! If you like unique original vintage bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! *This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame, truss rod forks, (has a small hole on the left side. No big deal but I like to be honest) Hawthorne head badge, way cool “art deco” neck/stem, cruiser style seat, Lucky 7 seat post, wide cruiser handlebars, vintage hand grips, full fenders, SKIPTOOTH chain and sprockets, original chainguard, Torrington? pedals, cool kickstand, rear carrier RACK, full fenders, (appears to have had a fender mounted headlight?) and more. Made by CWC (Cleveland Welding… Roadmaster, Hiawatha, Western Flyer etc.) and has lots of potential! This bike would look amazing if you added a tank! *A VERY unique ride for someone who wants something a little different than the crowd has! I like the age and patina. This is a popular look in California right now! *The tires are 26×2.125″. They are old vintage tires and do hold air for a few days. (ok for display or replace for riding) The bike has vintage rims front and rear with New Departure front and rear hubs. *The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) *DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 32″. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 29 1/2″. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 19 1/2″. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 23″. (A slightly longer frame… some people really like this size) The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. *NOTED FLAWS This is a cool bike! I got this one just like you see it. I love the fact that this bike still wears its original paint. (has obvious age and patina) Chrome shows age. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). I hope you love it! If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you bid. *This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach.
