This is a nice looking hour and half hour gonging mantle clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company in Thomaston, Conn., USA, nearly 100 years ago. This model features a signed Seth Thomas #89 movement which has been cleaned and serviced and is in good running and gonging order. It counts out each hour, i.e. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc., on an antique cathedral style gong and announces each half hour with a single toll. The case is in nice condition. It is still in the original finish, showing only the normal signs of wear associated with age, and long term use. The solid brass bezel and silvered dial assembly is very nice looking. It shows minimal wear age and staining, and is really in good shape for its age. The case measures 19″ wide x 9 ½” high x 6″ deep. This is a great looking clock, classic in styling, that is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. It comes complete with the original pendulum and a key that fits. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. All items are carefully packaged with around 1 ½” of packing material between your purchase and the box. All items are shipped insured. We never anticipate damage but in the event that an incident occurs, we will help with insurance claims as much as possible. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. Normally, all shipping costs are based on actual price for estimated weight plus a minimal fee for packaging material and insurance. In rare instances there may be a flat rate shipping price quoted. Smaller items can be combined to save shipping costs. Because clocks require large boxes, Priority Mail is expensive.
