eBay THIS CLEVER KEEPSAKE HONORING THE VERY FIRST CARTOON WITH SYNCHRONIZED SOUND IS A MUST-HAVE FOR ANY MICKEY MOUSE OR WALT DISNEY FAN! This limited edition figurine features the iconic characters of Mickey Mouse and Pete from the beloved Disney cartoon, Steamboat Willie. Crafted by Harmony Kingdom for Disney Auctions, this small-sized Mickey Mouse collectible comes in an iconic Harmony Kingdom box. This collectible is a must-have for any Disney lover and is a perfect addition to any decorative collection. THIS ITEM HAS NEVER BEEN USED, DISPLAYED OR REMOVED FROM BOX OR PLASTIC BEFORE TAKING PICTURES FOR THIS AUCTION. It has been in its box since I purchased it in 2001, sitting in a closet with other HK boxes I did not open. I usually don’t like to take items out of the box, but there was no way you would be able to see how beautiful this piece is if I didn’t. The figure is 2.75 x 2.75 x 3.25 and was expertly sculpted by Disney artist Robert King. It comes with its original box and a Harmony Kingdom booklet. An official Certificate of Authenticity was not issued for this particular edition. The secret inside the box is a bell from Steamboat Willie. The storage box it comes in has some minor wear, but is in very good condition. This items Here’s a little about Steamboat Willie I found on Wikipedia: Steamboat Willie is a 1928 American animated short film directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. It was produced in black and white by Walt Disney Studios and was released by Pat Powers, under the name of Celebrity Productions. The cartoon is considered the debut of both Mickey and Minnie Mouse, although both characters appeared several months earlier in a test screening of Plane Crazy. Steamboat Willie was the third of Mickey’s films to be produced, but it was the first to be distributed, because Disney, having seen The Jazz Singer, had committed himself to produce one of the first fully synchronized sound cartoons. Artistic Director Martin Perry oversees a growing group of talented artists from Wimberley Mills, his headquarters in the picturesque Cotswolds region of England’s West Country. The whimsical animals of the Treasure Jest series, the beautiful blooms of Harmony Garden, and the entire Harmony Kingdom range all display the attention to detail and quirky sense of humor for which Harmony Kingdom’s artists are known. In August, 1997, the first Disney-themed Harmony Kingdom was released, entitled “Pooh and Friends.” They were first only available through the Disney Theme Parks (Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Tokyo Disney). In time, some of the earlier releases, found their way into the Disney Stores and Disney Galleries plus the Disney Catalog and the Disney Auctions on eBay.
