eBay Offering a Mouth Blown Glass Christmas Ornament in the shape of a pickle from Inge Glas of West Germany. It is a satin finish blue/green in color. The Inge Glass trademark crown cap with the star loop and printed West Germany tops the ornament (for some reason the star has rusted over the years). It measures 4 1/2” tall by 1 7/8” wide by 1 1/2” wide . The German tradition is that an ornamental pickle is placed on a Christmas tree as one of the Christmas decorations. On Christmas morning, the first person to find the pickle on the tree would receive an extra present from Santa Claus or would be said to have a year of good fortune. It is in very good condition condition with only a very few small scratches in its paint. Its metal cap reads West Germany. I have listed a number of other Inge Glas ornaments from the same estate sale. Take a look ~ save on postage! (#17bm,sbr) Please examine all photos as they are as important to the description of this item as the words that are written about the item. Photos of ornaments always include a photo of 4 sides plus the top and bottom and may also include any special features of the ornament. Supersize them while you are examining the photos. Please remember that vintage ornaments are usually from 40 to 80 years old. All have been used and are thus probably not going to be in perfect condition. All are subject to some surface scratches, flaking to the paint, crazing of paint, age spots, oxidation, silvering loss, nicks around or under caps, may have tarnish / discoloration to metal caps, and some may not have the original caps. These are all signs of age ~ commonly called age patina. NOTE: I do offer combined shipping discounting when used with your shopping cart before you pay.
