See below for details. ~~~~~ oNE-PIECE (nO SCREWHOLE) STYLE THIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW. ******** Note: Two-Piece grips, in addition to a visible screw, have a grip pin installed in the frame to help hold them in place. One-Piece grips (grips with no visible screw) use a spacer between the panels, with no screw and no grip pin. BOTH styles of our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame. See below. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Our One-Piece style grips will work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip frames). Fully illustrated instructions included for quick and easy installation. Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal. Unlike with One-Piece grips, the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips for cleaning and maintenance of the revolver. Our Two-Piece grips include a free Conversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement. This requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many collectors. These grips WILL FIT all of the following: Blackpowder Revolvers: * Pietta 1860 Army .44 Caliber Blackpowder (Cap & Ball Percussion) revolvers; * Pietta 1851 Navy Steel Frame Blackpowder Revolvers in .44 Caliber Only (Note: these have the 1860 Army (3-1/2” tall) sized gripframe; these grips will NOT fit the other 51 Navy’s with the shorter 3-1/8” gripframe); Cartridge Revolvers: * Pietta (Traditions, etc.) Frontier .44 Magnum (and a few .357 Magnum Frontiers using the 3-1/2” tall 1860 grip frame); * Pietta (EMF) Great Western II Alchimista I, II, or III; * Cimarron El Malo II (Note: will NOT fit the El Malo I); * Cimarron Eliminator; * AND ALL other Pietta Cartridge Firing revolvers using the 1860 Army sized (3-1/2” high) grip frame. To make sure you are ordering the correct grip, please check your grip frame measurement prior to ordering. Your grips or grip frame should measure somewhere around 3-1/2” tall, depending on how you hold your ruler, tape, or caliper. The important thing is to make sure they are NOT around 3-1/16 – 3-1/8” tall, which requires our standard (shorter) 1873 SAA sized grip. Also, please note that these will NOT fit the Bisley, the Birdshead, the Thunderer, Thunderball, or the Lightning style revolvers, which use a completely different We also offer these Custom Fit to your revolver gripframe in separate auction listings, for those interested. 22011965 Arizona Custom Grips About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips: Our Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are made out of a premium high-grade, ultra-high density ivory material (Magna-Tusk™), designed from the ground up as a premium grip material to greatly improve on the inherent fragility and weakness of the cheaper Bonded Ivory used on just about all factory and regular aftermarket ivory grips today. Standard Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over time with repeated use, firing, and handling. Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory. These grips are not cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense, carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time. Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is produced with outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. About Our Aging Process: We go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory not only looks similar to real aged ivory, but in fact looks identical to the real thing. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Through our slow aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, no two are exactly the same. Our process produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends deep into the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person. Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their grips to the range or club, where our grips are immediately seen and noticed by others.
