SETH THOMAS LAFAYETTE – 1928 Today I have for offer is this not often seen Seth Thomas LAFAYETTE model that was produced in the year of around 1928. The style of this clock along with its timbre and decay of the bell metal gong counting the hours and half-hour will warm the room with its beauty and sound. This model has a short base making it perfect to fit anywhere in your house or apartment with a concave molded edge around the dial and step down accents at the 3 and 9 going from front to back. Inlaid accents below the dial and raised molding at each end give this clock a grand appearance for its compact size. The finish is 100% original and the Mahogany case has a few character marks on it as the pictures will show. This clock has a 5 inch silvered dial with raised bronze Arabic numbers that can be read from a distance complimented by signature Seth Thomas fancy bronze serpentine hour and minute hands. This clock features a rebuilt 8-day movement No. 125 that requires no pendulum and strikes once on the half-hour and actual strikes of the hour on a bell metal gong. This can be seen and heard on the video player that will be provided. Just click on the white play arrow in the middle of the video, adjust the volume and enjoy. A teeny tiny scratch as shown in picture 4 that is hardly noticeable but worth mentioning on the original convex beveled glass and the machined clasp brass bezel along with the back door opens and closes properly as they should. An original 2-sided key comes with the clock as well as a full model label on the bottom. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional and will give years of enjoyment to you and many of your generations to come. What I do to ensure you are buying a quality clock from me. Ø Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely. Ø Bush all worn pivot holes with high quality Burgeon bronze bushings as needed. Ø Clean the entire movement ultrasonically. Ø Clean, inspect and lubricate mainsprings. Ø Clean the original dial being careful not to alter its original condition. Ø Clean bezel, sash, parts and chime by hand. Ø Clean the outside of the original finish by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Ø Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Ø Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each half-hour and hour. Ø Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Ø Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Ø Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Ø Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned and odors removed. Ø Instructions for set up and contact number provided for on going support and discounted maintenance or repair for your clock. Ø A video player added to this ebay listing so you can see and hear the clock you are buying. This is a smaller sized tambour clock that measures 8 ½” H x 17 ¼” W x 6” D that will compliment any of your rooms décor.
